Remote US | Contract
Grant Writing Professionals
As a grants professional with Fox Grants, you will be responsible for being the project lead and facilitating all levels of client engagement. The Grant Consultant will see each grant application through from start to finish while keeping an eye on strategic funder cultivation touch points, internal client deadlines, and funder hard deadlines. We provide extensive back-office and administrative support to our consultants so that you can focus on delivering exceptional work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and meet all grant deadlines in accordance with the client’s grant calendar
- Writing and editing compelling applications and coordinating each grant application from start to finish. This includes creating log-in credentials into the grant portal, pulling application questions into a word/google document, developing application checklists and timelines, assembling questions for clients that aid in the development of grant applications, and compiling grant attachments and other relevant research to support written content
- Obtaining required supporting documentation and attachments, such as budgets, logic models, work plans, letters of support, and resolutions from local government entities if required, and completing the required forms in collaboration with the primary contact from the Client
- Packaging all proposal deliverables for submission and providing support and guidance to the Client during the submission process, and providing multiple drafts for the Client to review and provide feedback
- Create a grants culture with the client by overseeing all tasks related to the strategy and project management aspects of a grants program
- Providing expertise related to the requirements of each RFP and setting expectations with the client around the planning and scoping of work before grant submission, and facilitating and scheduling project meetings with subject matter experts that are within the scope of the project
- Engaging in regular Client check-ins, correspondence via Zoom (or other platform preferred by the client) or phone calls as needed throughout the grant development process and sending appropriate follow-up documentation after check-ins identifying action steps
- Scheduling and facilitating calls or meetings with program officers/staff to confirm alignment with guidelines, inform grant applications, and/or coordinate site visits
- Providing client’s staff with briefs, talking points, and other materials as needed to prepare staff for donor solicitation visits
- Maintain an ongoing grants calendar with current and new funding prospects
- In coordination with the Client’s leadership team, manage the Client’s grants calendar to track cultivation efforts, donor priorities and alignment, grant deadlines, grant submissions, and report requirements
- Conduct prospect research via Fox Grants' industry standards and trusted resources. Analyze and cross reference prospect switch Client’s current grant funders
- Synthesize prospects into a prospect matrix that includes key funder information
What you will bring:
- Master's degree or equivalent experience and training
- Minimum five years experience in grant writing
- Experience using Google Drive to manage documents and collaborative communication
- Strong interpersonal and meeting facilitation skills, including managing Zoom calls
- Independent work style
- Experience working remotely
- Strong project management skills
- Ability to respond to email and/or communication in a timely manner (within 24 hours)
- Preferred - GPC and/or GPA member

Capital Campaign Consultant
The campaign consultant with Fox Advancement directs campaign visioning, feasibility studies, and implementation for our clients across various industries. At a high level, these processes involve the following:

Visioning: Lead the client in developing their case for support and campaign budget.

Feasibility study: Confirm a realistic campaign goal through interviews with key donors and stakeholders.

Campaign implementation: Serve as the primary project manager for the campaign, ensuring activities happen on time and with integrity. Provide expert fundraising counsel to nonprofit executives and campaign volunteers.
Some of what you might be doing with our clients:
- Provide senior-level consulting for capital campaigns with an organization of at least a $5M operating budget;
- Communicate with clients clearly and consistently, serving as an expert guide for the capital campaign process;
- Conduct interviews with high-net-worth individuals with poise, professionalism, and integrity ;
- Provide campaign education and major gifts solicitation training, when applicable, to Board of Directors members and campaign volunteers;
- Develop campaign leadership and volunteer engagement plans;
- Provide strategy and research to assist staff and volunteers in soliciting 6-7 figure gifts;
- Prepare progress and final reports of campaign results with follow-up action plans;
- Collaborate with Campaign Operations to develop a comprehensive scope of work;
- Build trusting relationships with key members in the philanthropic community and nonprofit leadership;
- Represent Fox Advancement at client meetings.
To be successful, you should:
- Have 10+ years of experience in overseeing capital campaigns
- Be well-versed in using Google Drive to manage documents and collaborative communication
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal and meeting facilitation skills, including managing Zoom calls
- Have experience working in a remote environment
- Demonstrate strong project management skills
Remote US | Contract
Fractional Services Consultants
Through our fractional service solutions, we provide mid-level, director, and executive-level support for all roles inside the non-profit, except for accounting/finance. A typical project is 10-20 hours per week, with some up to 40 hours per week, depending on the size of the organization and the complexity of needs. Locations may vary depending on the assignment. While most assignments are remote/virtual, on-site project requests do come up.
What you'll need to have to be successful:
- Previous work, with a proven track record of success in nonprofits, in roles such as: Executive Director, Director of Development, Chief Development Officer, Major Gifts Director, Director of Philanthropy, or other similar positions.
- We are also looking for professionals with experience in roles such as Human Resource Leader, Marketing Leader, and Operations Leader
- Ability to quickly assess and advise on the best methods to achieve goals
- Ability to process and evaluate data to drive decision-making
- Proven ability to lead teams and direct performance
- Flexibility to respond quickly to changing client needs
- Experience leading in a virtual or hybrid environment
- Willingness to roll up your sleeves and run both tactical and strategic programs
- Highly effective written and verbal communication skills, including solid presentation abilities
- Comfort interacting with executive leadership, staff, board members, and major donors
- Extensive experience identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major donors
- NOTE: Strong preference for candidates based in the Minneapolis/St Paul Region
What You Will Bring:
- Minimum of 5-8 years of professional experience as a leader of a core function inside a non-profit
- Prior experience in a consulting or contract role
- Strong comfort with the various technologies and systems necessary to support your work
- Grant writing knowledge and capital campaign management experience is a plus!
