Dear partners, colleagues, and friends,
We are experiencing a time of unprecedented challenge and indescribable heartache. The violent death of George Floyd is on our hearts and minds and will remain there well into the future. We stand together with our neighbors who are peacefully protesting the unmistakable injustice of Floyd’s death. We are also deeply saddened to see the destruction of the small businesses, nonprofits, landmarks, and public spaces that shape our beloved Twin Cities. For several years, Fox Advancement’s office was in the Greenway Building at Lake and Hiawatha. We are intimately familiar with that neighborhood and are heartbroken by the devastation there and around the metro area.
At Fox Advancement, we have the privilege of working with diverse and vibrant nonprofit organizations. These organizations are fighting injustice, offering food and shelter, and providing healthcare to those with significant barriers to accessing it. We are proud to partner with these powerful organizations. We are now connecting with nonprofits that have been most impacted by the unrest across the city, whether through loss of physical space or property, and are providing resources and supplies to help them get through this crisis.
In the midst of our collective grieving over Floyd’s death, the COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact nearly every aspect of our daily lives. We continue to update our COVID-19 resources page with grant opportunities at the local, state, and federal level. We are so pleased that many of our nonprofit clients have received much-needed emergency funds to help them weather COVID-19. More information is provided below.
This time of uncertainty and unrest is testing us all. Yet we remain buoyed by hope–hope in our community, hope in passionate leaders who inspire meaningful dialogue, and hope in the nonprofit organizations that provide critical services. We will get through this together. Thank you all for the many powerful contributions you’re making in our community.
With gratitude,
The Fox Advancement team
Kevin, Erika, Emily, Natasha, Whitney, Alex, Kory, and Ahna
