Describe your role with the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet. Why are you passionate about their work and ministries?

I am the Executive Director of the Sisters of St. Joseph Ministries Foundation. I lead a staff of six that raises and grants funds to sustain the social service and spirituality ministries of the Sisters of St. Joseph. The Sisters started many great programs, and it’s the work of the Foundation staff and all our donors to keep them vibrant and responsive to the needs we see around us.

How long have you worked with Fox Advancement, and in what capacity? What do you appreciate about your partnership with Fox Advancement?

We have worked with Fox Advancement for more than four years. They first came on to help us with strategic planning for one of the Sisters’ ministries, and then we asked them to engage all of our ministries and programs into a strategic, forward-looking vision. Fox has been helpful in framing the right questions, crafting a bold vision for the future, and establishing a systematic way to unite around that vision.

What do you enjoy most about fundraising? What is an example of a fundraising challenge you have faced, and how did you overcome it?

My fundraising work with the Sisters of St. Joseph has introduced me to so many wonderful people: the Sisters, our donors, our Board of Directors, and many, many colleagues. It unites us around a common goal: engaging our wider community in the mission of the Sisters of St. Joseph and funding this mission, which is very gratifying. My biggest challenge now is working with others to keep this mission alive for future generations.

What is a particularly memorable interaction you have had with a project partner or volunteer?

My most memorable interactions have involved developing strong personal relationships with our board members, some who did not know much about our work when they started with us but truly live and breathe it by the time they’re done! The professionalism they add to our work is incredible. We could not do this without them.

On a personal note: Describe your perfect day!

It’s sunny, high 70s or low 80s, no humidity, and there’s a slight wind at my back while on a long bike ride on a trail without stop signs, intersections, or any traffic.
