Client Spotlight: Hennepin Theatre Trust
Bright lights, glitz, glamour and a night on the town. Broadway, concerts and comedy. Bringing people together and creating positive change on Hennepin Avenue in Downtown Minneapolis through the arts and cultural experiences. This has been the mission of Hennepin Theatre Trust (HTT) for almost 20 years.
Originally founded in 2000 to guarantee the future of the magnificent vaudeville-era State, Orpheum and Pantages theatres, HTT has lived its values of inclusion and collaboration, while embracing new possibilities to grow its programming.
In addition to bringing great Broadway shows and musical acts to Minneapolis, HTT has led the creation of WeDo – the West Downtown MPLS Cultural District – a comprehensive set of placemaking strategies that unifies the cultural institutions of West Downtown from the Mississippi River to the Walker Art Center. HTT’s Spotlight Education, a musical theatre program for Minnesota high school students- encompassing performance and technical elements, to criticism and evaluation – has just celebrated its 10 year anniversary!
Along with programming growth comes the need for increased philanthropic support. Fox Advancement has been fortunate to serve as an advisor and partner to HTT’s development staff during these exciting times. We think that you will be hearing a lot about Hennepin Theatre Trust in the coming months and years as they continue to grow and Downtown Minneapolis’ revitalization thrives.
