Client Spotlight: Fighting Chance Boxing Club
“Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth. ” This Muhammad Ali quote serves as one of the guiding mantras for Fighting Chance Boxing Club, a youth development nonprofit founded in 2015, headquartered in North Minneapolis.
Housed in a refurbished Minneapolis Fire Department station, Fighting Chance envisions a “community of hopeful and empowered youth who achieve self-discipline, confidence, compassion and respect.” Community youth, ages 9-18 under, have free access to the boxing instruction, healthy meals, and mentoring services Fighting Chance provides.
Adults interested in boxing, or the yoga studio, are welcomed with a sliding scale membership fee.
The founders, retired Police Officer Victor Mills and Restaurateur Ryan Burnet, envision a community space where kids and adults can develop discipline, confidence, and a healthy, active lifestyle.
Fox Advancement has been working with Fighting Chance since June, offering prospect research, grant strategy, and grant writing services. We are so excited to be a part of this important work.
